Pole Mounted Transformer Product Introduction
A pole-mounted transformer is typically installed outdoors on a utility pole. Its cylindrical tank reduces wind resistance and improves stability. During installation, the mounting base must be level, and the oil tank must be properly grounded to prevent lightning damage and leakage hazards.
During operation, the oil level, oil temperature and insulation performance should be checked regularly, as a sudden rise in oil temperature may indicate an internal fault. Before maintenance, the transformer must be de-energized and the insulating oil drained, and the winding insulation resistance should be tested with professional equipment to confirm that it meets safety standards.
For projects with specific voltage ratio or capacity requirements, performance can be adjusted by customizing the number of winding turns or the core size.
Product Advantages
- Space optimization: Mounted on a pole, the transformer makes use of vertical space and greatly reduces ground area, making it ideal for sites with limited room.
- Convenient installation and maintenance: The overhead layout simplifies installation and servicing, avoids long outages and allows faster emergency repairs.
- Improved safety: Overhead mounting reduces ground-level risks such as flooding, vehicle collisions and damage from animals.
- Aesthetic adaptability: The compact unit fits into urban blocks and residential areas, providing the required distribution capacity without disrupting the streetscape.
- Optimized heat dissipation: Free air circulation around the overhead unit improves cooling and helps extend service life.
- Flexible and expandable: The transformer can be relocated or upgraded to a larger capacity as distribution loads change.
- Cost-effective: Compared with ground-mounted units, it requires less supporting infrastructure and lower long-term maintenance costs, offering excellent overall value.
Pole Mounted Transformer Applications
- Urban distribution: Installed at the end of low-voltage networks to supply stable power to residential communities and commercial districts.
- Rural power grids: Supports rural grid upgrades and expansion, improving power supply reliability and relieving local power shortages.
- New energy access: Used in photovoltaic and wind power projects to help renewable energy systems operate reliably and deliver stable output.
